As has now become tradition, our Kent Golf Christmas Meeting was held at Kings Hill Golf Club on the first Wednesday in December and we were blessed with a bright sunny morning and, mercifully, no frost. Our full field of 60 players took to the course for their fourball betterball stableford, with the added bonus of a nearest the pin prize on all par 3s.
Our sharp-shooters turned out to be Steve Deacon (West Malling), Roger Bennett (Kings Hill), Matthew Corbin (Bexleyheath) and Chris Reynolds (Littlestone). There was also a longest drive prize which went to Steve Butler (West Malling). Well done all!
In the main competition, Helen and Jim Johnson (Sidcup) just missed out on third place after being pipped on countback by Malcolm Gofton and Andy Yates (West Malling) on 41 points. Runners-up were our 2022 winners, Mark Parkinson and Wayne Aris (Langley Park) with 42 points, but no one could match the 43 points from Hilary Brown and Sharon Andrews (Prince’s), and we congratulate them on becoming our 2025 Christmas Champions. Well done, ladies!
Thank you to Kings Hill for their warm welcome and splendid lunch and also to our Kent Golf volunteers for running the day.
Entries for the 2026 competition will open on 1st January so get in early to avoid disappointment!
