Matthew Gibson wins Mid-Age Championship!
With head greenkeeper, Nick Dowe, setting Redlibbets up for a tough challenge, and the prevailing gusty wind, scoring proved to be somewhat difficult to a lot of the field at the Mid-Age Championship yesterday. With Standard Scratch for the first round rising to 75, it was some idea of exactly how tough it was! Despite this, there were plenty of compliments about the course and the greens especially, being fast, true and receptive and the credit goes to Nick and his team for all their hard work!
Matthew Gibson certainly was the happiest of the field, with a gross 147, 3 over par, giving him a 3-shot winning margin to Danny Curtis and Lloyd Godwin into 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Matthew also won the Handicap competition with a nett 145, 4 ahead of Mike Evans in 2nd place and 5 ahead of Danny Curtis into 3rd.
Winner of Mid-Age Championship and Nett winner. Third in Mid-Age Championship Runner up in Mid-Age Championship and third in Nett Runner-up in the nett competition.
