April 20th - COVID-19 Kent Golf Event Schedule Update
In March we cancelled, postponed or suspended all Kent Golf Union and Kent County Ladies’ Golf Association activity until at least 30 April 2020. In light of the current circumstances and announcements, we have decided to extend this period of inactivity until at least Sunday 28 June 2020.
This extension relates to all KGU and KCLGA Championships, events, matches, coaching, course-rating and all similar type activities. All KGU’s and KCLGA’s 2020 inter-club and individual knock-out competitions have, necessarily, already been cancelled.
The situation will continue to be regularly reviewed and any further decisions will be guided by the recommendations of our Governing bodies, along with information and guidance from the Government and Public Health England.
The effect of the above will be reflected in both our 2020 calendar of events on our websites and a further communication will be forthcoming as to the specific events that are affected.
Please also note that England Golf has asked all County groups to cancel all qualifying rounds for the Boys’, Men’s and Seniors’ County Finals. There will be England Golf events for county representative sides for first teams 25-27 September at Seaford GC and for the seniors from 6 – 8 October at Torquay GC, each in revised formats.
Similarly, Ladies’ County Match Week due to be held at the beginning of July has also been cancelled and in its place will be the English Women’s County Finals in a revised format to be held from 14 - 18 September at Spalding GC.
The situation will continue to be regularly reviewed and any further decisions will be guided by the recommendations of our golf governing bodies, along with information and guidance from the Government and Public Health England.
A further update will be provided after the next Government review.
Kent Golf wishes you and your families all the very best in these trying times.
