SafeGolf Accreditation Update - 03.08.2020
To: All Affiliated Golf Clubs
From discussion throughout the past months it is clear that clubs and counties are fully committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults involved in our sport through the SafeGolf accreditation system. The disruption to golf club and county operations has created many additional pressures and demands, which have impacted on ability to progress towards SafeGolf accreditation. In particular, welfare officers have been unable to access Time To Listen (TTL) training courses since March 2020. Although an online version of TTL has now been rolled out, availability is severely limited.
In recognition of the above:
To confirm, SafeGolf accreditation is a standard that the sport has agreed must be met, and as such will be mandatory for all affiliated clubs and counties from the above deadline.
As a result of feedback we have simplified the registration process, and clubs and counties who have yet to attain SafeGolf status, but have the capacity to make progress with their accreditation at this time can do so with the support of our Partnership Managers and Club Support Officer network.
