Kent Senior Women vs Sussex - 21 July

The team of Tita McCart (Sundridge Park), Kim Morris (Sundridge Park), Mary MacLaren (Chislehurst), Sandy Hallett (Prince’s), Angela Jones (Canterbury), Alison Kingston (Canterbury) travelled to picturesque Piltdown on a swelteringly hot day where sunscreen and cooling wet towels were uppermost in the players’ minds. The course is known for having no bunkers but lots of heather that any errant shots seem to find their way into. The greens were smooth and quick with some tricky slopes to negotiate - avoiding 3 putting was key to success.

Sussex have dominated the league for the past few years with a number of internationals in their team, so we were very pleased with an excellent team performance that ended up in a halved match - each team winning 3 games. Kent’s strength was in the middle order and all games were keenly contested with most ending on the last couple of holes.
