Michael Saunders (Dartford) wins the Watson Trophy for an unprecedented 3rd time.

The Watson Trophy, a prestigious competition for Kent Club Champions only and one of Kent Golf Unions' key fixtures, took place at Dartford Golf Club last weekend.

In one of the strongest fields ever, comprising of over 40 club champions with twelve players on better than scratch handicaps, Michael Saunders (Dartford) and current County Champion, won by one shot from Darren Timms (Mid Kent) and Leigh Ferris (Lamberhurst) a further shot back.

England players Max Orrin (North Foreland) and Connor Fletcher (Chart Hills) and top County players Charlie Wilson (Sene Valley) and Danny Holmes (Langley Park) produced some brilliant golf on a course that was in great condition and pin positions that were as difficult as ever.

Supporters from across the County, local members and golf enthusiasts made up the large crowds.  Representatives from the Kent Golf Union and England Golf were also in attendance.

But it was Michael Saunders who stood out and showed his class by producing the best golf on the day by winning this for an unprecented third time - 2010, 2011 and 2012 - making history for Dartford Golf Club.
