Womens 2nd team v Middlesex
Our first match of 2021 for the 2nd team (Stovold Trophy) was held at Muswell Hill (28 July2021) against Middlesex. The weather was not kind to us and the rain showers were very heavy at times, but the sun did come out and shine on Kent. The team gained a 2-1 win in the morning foursomes with one match going down to the last putt on the 18th.
After lunch waterproofs were back on and with the greens flooding (some fairways too), it was difficult for the team to play on dry surfaces but thankfully there were some dry spells and we were able to continue to play some great golf. The team drew 3-3 in the afternoon singles making an overall win 5-4 for Kent.
Muswell Hill was in good condition and lovely to play, the matches were played in a very good spirit and it was a great result for the Kent 2nd team.
Thank you to all our team players for enduring the weather and bringing in a great win away from home and also to Muswell Hill and the Middlesex team for the lovely food and hospitality.
