Kent Golf’s commitment, as signatories to the Women in Golf Charter, continued on Friday 17th November when we ran a Women on Par event called a 'Fun, Fizz and Friendship' evening held at Westerham Golf Club. It was a great success with 11 ladies attending, trying golf for the first time.
The evening got underway at 5 pm with a half hour ‘basics for beginners’ lesson from the Club’s Head professional Matt and then we ventured out onto their Par 3 course to put into practice what they had learnt.
It was a lot of fun and there were no casualties apart from a few lost balls.
We then retired to the patio for gin and tonics (gin supplied by Slingsby), Prosecco, some snacks and a Prize Presentation.
A good time was had by all and there was some very good feedback with them all looking forward to the next event (probably in the Spring).
We would like to thank Matt and Scott from Westerham Golf Club for their support and hospitality, and also our Kent Golf volunteers Cheryl Power, Tita McCart, Gill McMillan, Kim Hansell, Linda Leach and Judith Halliday for helping out on the night.
