A great day at Royal St. George's Golf Club for the Final of the Race to St George's which is the culmination of this year's qualifying rounds held around the County.
Although we had lovely sunny weather, the wind was blowing strong and scoring wasn't easy.
However, some excellent golf was played with Ellena Slater (Kings Hill) winning the best girls' scratch with a 3 over par 75, and Lee Carew (Chelsfield Lakes) winning the best boys' scratch with a 75 gross.
The runners-up were Ellie Burdis from West Kent (77) and Luke Jenkins from Rochester and Cobham (78) respectively.
In the handicap competition Ellie Burdis won the best girls on a count back (80) and Oliver Pugh from Ashford the best boys (72).
Lee Carew also won the boys Order of Merit, and Ellena Slater the girls Order of Merit, for their performances throughout the year.
Next year's Race to St George's qualifying dates will be out soon and we look forward to another successful and enjoyable tournament.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Royal St George's for hosting this event again and for everything they do to support Kent Golf. We, the officials, players and supporters always receive a very warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
