Michael Saunders clinches the Lagonda Trophy 2012 at Gog Magog Golf Club
Saunders was one shot behind the leader standing on the last tee, but with his impressive previous rounds of 69, 67, 69, he was determined not to let this one slip.
In front of very a large crowd & EGU representatives he birdied the last hole while the leader, his playing partner, bogeyed to give a two shot swing and victory - with a round of 70, five under par for the tournament.
This prestigious tournament - an EGU Order of Merit, & World Amateur Ranking Points Event, attracted a very high-class field including numerous England players.
Saunders adds his name to a winners' list that includes the world No 1 Luke Donald (1997) and world No 3 Lee Westwood (1992).
