Moor Park a rolling parkland course with a magnificent club house was in excellent condition.  Good fairways, fast sloping greens, a firm but fair test.

Regrettably, Kent were not successful in winning and going on to the national finals, for the first time in the running of the event. Hertfordshire (with 3 home club members) triumphed by a winning margin, over Kent, approaching 20 shots. However, 20 shots over 10 counting rounds is 2 shots a round - a couple of putts, a poor drive, misjudged approach shot - small matters over 2 days of competition. We know we didn't play as well as we would have liked.

There were however good rounds each day - Chris Reynolds, 74 on day one, and Ricky Moore, 72 on day 2, both one under the CSS for the day were excellent performances.

We wish Hertfordshire well in their trip to the finals, but to paraphrase that well known actor - we'll be back!
