Senior Women's Team win 5-1 v Essex
We played Essex at Wanstead Golf Club in East London on a hot and humid August day. Following the long dry spell the course was very brown and dry with greens that were longer than usual to protect them against the heat. Fortunately we were able to play a practice round the day before which really helped to gauge clubbing and runout, especially on the long par 3s that had carries over bunkers and water.
This was our final league game of the season and we needed a win to stay in contention for the trophy we first won last year. The team played well and came away with a very creditable result. We now await the results of the other counties’ final games with our fingers crossed that they go our way!
