Hinge Trophy Qualifier report

Well, it might not have been the most inviting day for golf, but 47 intrepid players still turned up at Littlestone for one half of this year’s Hinge Trophy qualifier, and all credit to them for doing so.

The course held up fantastically well after heavy rain the day before and another continual showering on competition day itself. Only a handful of players broke 80 with Charlie Hickling (Wildernesse) taking top spot with 77 on countback from Martin Warren (Royal Cinque Ports) and Max Murray (Sundridge Park). Rounding out the top five were Alan Davie (Royal Blackheath) with a 78, with Danny Jones (Wildernesse) one shot behind.

The top 25 – along with the same number from the qualifier at Royal Cinque Ports - have made the cut for the next round at Prince’s on Sunday 8 January when things will hopefully be considerably drier!
