Our boys squad player Josh Dugard from Chelsfield Lakes is preparing to go to the USA next year. Josh talks about his early beginnings as a golfer and how Kent Golf helped him on his journey:
"My time in the Kent golf programmes has been a great experience and has helped develop my passion for golf. It all started when I was 13 when I went for my first taster session at Sidcup Family Driving Range. This is where I was first able to properly develop my skill set due to the facilities and coaches that were available to me. From partaking in these sessions, it had a ripple effect of me becoming a much more rounded golfer which enabled me to become a part of the successful under 14s, 16s and 18s squad. By being a part of these squads, it has given me great opportunities such as being able to play in the 6-man National Final in Cumbria where we stayed over for a week preparing and playing in the final. This has resulted in me making friendships that I will have for life and teaching me valuable life lessons not just for the golf course.
Overall, I truly believe Kent Golf has benefited me and my golf game thanks to the support from the coaches and managers which has also helped prepare me for when I go to America next year for Golf."
Thank you for sending your story Josh, and good luck in your future endeavours, we will look forward to following your progress.
