Robin Young Trophy report

Date published: 17 Mar 2023

Thirty-two of our best senior golfers assembled at a fair but blowy Royal St. George's for this year's Robin Young Trophy.

As well as the scratch competition, there were also prizes for the top three nett finishers. Coming in third with a nett 76 was Martin Farbrace (Sene Valley), with second place going to John Crabtree (Littlestone) with a nett 74. But no one could beat William Phelps (Littlestone), who took the handicap honours with a very commendable 72.

The scratch competition was also fiercely contested with third place being taken by Richard Punyer (Littlestone) on 77, and one stroke ahead of him was the evergreen Danny Curtis (Knole Park) in second place. But taking the trophy with a very fine 74 was Richard Tomlin (Sundridge Park), a worthy and deserving winner.

Thank you to all those who played in the competition; the camaraderie and sportsmanship was evident. Thank you also to Royal St. George's for their usual exemplary hospitality, and many congratulations to Richard Tomlin, our 2023 Robin Young Champion.

The full results link is not available at the moment due to technical problems, but will be added to this post as soon as possible.
