Futures Championship report

Date published: 7 Apr 2023

Littlestone Warren was our host for the first Futures event of the year and luckily, for the most part, the weather behaved itself. We had nineteen young golfers giving it their best on the links, hoping to win a prize and a bonus Easter egg!

The players were split into 3 groups: Group A – handicaps below 25, Group B – 26-36, and Group C – 37 and above (over 14 holes). There were some very impressive swings on display and a lot of good scoring, too.

Taking third place in Group A was Caleb Twyman (Prince’s) with second place going to Patrick Rothwell (West Malling). But Group A honours went to Tom Edmeads (Hever Castle) with an excellent 42 points. Well done, Tom!

In Group B, Dexter Stavri (Canterbury) came third with Jeremy Li (Sundridge Park) taking second place. The Group B winner was Alexander McKay (Knole Park) with a rather splendid 45 points, keeping up his good form from the day before!

Third place in Group C went to Ryan Steyl with second place going to Arthur Cuffey (Weald of Kent). With a very impressive 35 points over 14 holes, top prize went to Tilly Greatley (Shooters Hill). Well played, Tilly!

An enjoyable day was had by all and well done to those golfers who were playing their very first competition today. A good experience, new friends made and lots to look forward to!
