Kent Golf Approved Junior Academy at Upchurch River Valley

James began his golf career at the busy West Malling Golf Club under the tutelage of retail expert Duncan Lambert. Upon graduating through the PGA degree he joined the team at Gravesend Golf Centre where he built and grew the Junior Academy. Many of the children that passed through the programme have since gone onto represent the county for both the boys and girls squads.

Now based at the inclusive and welcoming Upchurch River Valley Golf Club, James has built a thriving Junior academy where 80 children of all ages and abilities come along every week to train and further their golfing skills. An emphasis is placed on creating a family friendly atmosphere where the young golfer learns and develops at their own speed. Family members accompany the young golfers at coaching sessions and also out on the golf course in the pathway playing events to help create the welcoming atmosphere.

THE ACADEMY IS BUILT AROUND THREE PILLARS:

Classes run during school term times.
Competitions using a graduated tee system.
Team Golf in the Golf Sixes League.

James’ coaching philosophy is simple; “Do the basics in a world class manner”. The coaching includes swing technique development (Long game, Short game and Putting), skill development and fitness. The academies follow a periodised yearly plan with skills testing at the close of each term.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

An online Annual Junior Player Profile & Parental Consent Form must be submitted prior to attendance
Entry fee payment must be received by Kent Golf prior to the first session
