QUALIFYING EVENTS
Each Qualifying event shall be:

(a) Other than the Kent Golf Junior Championship, 18 hole Stroke Play for Junior members of Kent Golf clubs and shall be played as one single competition;
(b) Final places in each event shall be decided on countback as appropriate;
(c) Each event shall be played in accordance with the Kent Golf General Competition Conditions.

There will be 4 regional events plus the Kent Golf Junior Championships – with points awarded leading a grand final at the end of the season.

For the regional events, points will be awarded as follows: 24 points for 1st, 20 points for 2nd and 18 points for 3rd, 17 points for 4th going down to 1 point for 20th place. Points will be awarded on a countback basis where scores are equal. Points will be awarded for both Scratch (gross) and Handicap (nett) places. There will be a separate Girls and Boys Scratch Order of Merit . The Handicap Order of Merit will be mixed.

Handicap adjustments based on gender and tees will be in accordance with Rules of Handicapping and WHS Mixed Tee Calculator applicable in England and Wales.

Eligibility

Competitors must be under 18 years of age on 1st January of the year of the competition and must be a member of a Club affiliated (and up to date with the payment of affiliation fees) to Kent Golf Limited and in possession of a current WHS Handicap Index. The Kent club must be the player’s HOME CLUB. Entries will be limited to the number permitted by the Host Club, and if necessary, longer handicaps will be subject to ballot.

Caddies
Caddies are allowed but must be under 18 on 1st January of the year of the event entered.

THE FINAL

A total of 24 players will qualify for the final. 16 players from the Boys Scratch Order Merit, 4 from the Girls Scratch Order of Merit and 4 from the Handicap Order of Merit.

Order of play will be drawn with the Scratch qualifiers playing a medal and the Handicap qualifiers playing a stableford competition.

A player can only qualify in one category (precedence being given to the Scratch event).
Qualifying points total will be carried forward to the final round to be held at Royal St George’s on Thursday 26th October 2023.

Vouchers will be awarded at the Final for prize-winners in each category.
