The grant aims to support clubs in the recruitment and development of a dedicated Mental Health First Aider.
Consideration must be given to ensure that the outcome of this grant is for the benefit of Members and Club Staff.
All golf clubs affiliated to Kent Golf Ltd, as long as they are SafeGolf accredited, have an ED&I Policy in place and affiliation fees are up to date. The criteria and conditions in place will need to be adhered to.
Attendance and Participation in an approved Mental Health First Aid Course that is delivered either digitally or in person.

1. Unrelated training or Programs
a. Funding other types of training not connected to MHFA (e.g., CPR, general counselling)
2. Personal Compensation Outside the Grant Scope
a. Paying staff not involved in MHFA
b. Giving stipends or bonuses unrelated to training delivery.
3. Capital Purchases
a. Buying property, vehicles, or unrelated equipment
b. Renovation or construction projects
4. General Operational Costs
a. Rent, utilities, or office overhead not directly tied to MHFA
b. Administrative costs not included in the approved budget
5. Travel not related to training
a. Out of state or International Travel unless it is for an approved MHFA event or certification
b. Luxury accommodations or meals exceeding standard per diem rates.
6. Marketing and Branding outside MHFA Scope
a. Broad organisation promotion not tied to MHFA recruitment and awareness.
7. Political or Religious Activities
a. Lobbying or advocacy work
b. Religious instruction or proselytizing
8. Training Individuals for personal benefit only
a. Paying for MHFA training for people who won't apply it in community, school or workplace settings.
Up to £150.00 per club. Only one claim may be made by a club throughout the life of the grant being made available.
All affiliated Kent clubs can apply for the grant using the online application form below.
You will be required to state the name of the course provider, who will be attending the course from your club and the date of the course.
Once the course is completed, invoices for the course should be submitted to Kent Golf Ltd in order that we can look to reimburse up to £150.00. Additional documentation may be requested if necessary. Clubs will be asked to provide some narrative and photo evidence showing the impact of the grant before funds are paid out. We would like to publicise the grant and encourage other clubs to come forward and apply. We will use these photos and stories for our social media channels.
The deadline date for applying for the grant is 31st December 2026. All grant applications will be reviewed on a timely basis and the club will be notified via email shortly after confirming whether the application has been successful or not.
