Race to St. George's - South Kent Qualifier

A very blustery spring day welcomed the players at Ashford Golf Club on Thursday 7 April for the first Race to St George’s event of 2022.
The best gross scores were decided by countback with Ethan Hall of Knole Park taking the win with a score of 78, ahead of Joshua Van Nierkerk of Kings Hill, with Sene Valley’s Tom Chapman secured 3rd place with a gross 79.
The wind proved a tricky proposition for the young players, with many players struggling to get near their handicaps. However, that was not the case for our Nett winner, with George Leach from Prince's shooting a fantastic 67 enough to win by 4 shots! Congratulations George.
Second and third places were decided by countback, with Marley Klosek from Faversham pipping Oliver McDonnell both scoring Nett 71.
The next round of the Junior Oder of Merit will be played at Hythe Golf Club on Tuesday 12th April, with all the players hoping to gain more points to qualify for the final at Royal St George’s on Thursday 27 October.
