Role overview

Kent Golf is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our organisation as a Sponsorship Manager on a voluntary basis.  This job description gives an overview of everything the person could do, but we would welcome hearing from individuals who can offer expertise, advice and/or time at whatever level is right for you.

Kent Golf sponsors are hugely valuable to our teams – from helping us make sure that our players have Kent Golf branded kit to supporting our activities and events to bring new people into the game and train for excellence.

This vital role will focus on sourcing and securing sponsorship to support our teams, as well as fostering and maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships with our valued sponsors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about golf and community sport, with a flair for communication and building partnerships.

Main responsibilities

• Identify, approach, and secure new sponsors to support Kent Golf teams and activities.
• Develop and maintain positive, ongoing relationships with existing sponsors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
• Work closely with the Kent Golf staff, committees and relevant team managers to understand sponsorship requirements and opportunities.
• Assist with the preparation of tailored sponsorship proposals, presentations, and partnership agreements.
• Help us negotiate sponsorship terms and ensure delivery of agreed benefits to sponsors.
• Act as the main point of contact for all sponsor communications.
• Help us monitor and report on sponsorship activity, providing feedback and updates to both sponsors and the Kent Golf Board and committees.
• When available, represent Kent Golf at events and functions, promoting the organisation and its sponsorship opportunities.

Person specification

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage relationships effectively.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in sponsorship, sales, marketing, or partnership management (desirable, but not essential).
• A knowledge of golf and Kent would be useful but not essential.
• Professional manner and ability to represent Kent Golf positively to external partners.

Commitment and support

This is a voluntary role. The expected time commitment is flexible.  Kent Golf has an excellent staff team that will provide support, resources, and guidance to assist the Sponsorship Manager in fulfilling their duties.

You will be joining a dedicated and active band of volunteers who enjoy discounted rates for Kent Golf events and who receive travel and subsistence expenses for their work.
